So after cenizasyarena let me join her at Acme Tattoo, I found out how much it would cost to get the swallow tattoo I posted recently. AKA a significant amount of money (and I’m not flush with cash these days). And as the adorable tattoo artist pointed out, you don’t want to get a bargain basement…
A tattoo is not an impulse buy. A tattoo stays on you forever. I literally thought about the tattoo that I wanted, and ultimately got, for four years. For four years, I knew what I wanted. The only thing stopping me was that I was unsure about where to put it. And once I figured out that, I waited another three months.
Don’t just get something that’s pretty. Get something that means something to you. And take serious time to consider the implications of that decision.
That’s my advice. Take more time than you think is necessary. And if you still want that tattoo, get it.
